Advanced 3D salt intrusion model

The main objectives of this subproject are:

  • To determine the role of individual physical mechanisms and forcing on salt intrusion in the Rhine-Meuse Delta on intra- and inter-annual time scales
  • To determine the role of anthropogenic changes on salt intrusion length, and the severity and frequency of salt intrusion events
  • To deliver a validated 3D HS model including parameterisations for gates and locks.
