Modelling salt exchange through low dynamic systems: floodgates

The main objectives of this subproject are:

  • Establish under which conditions salt accumulates in scour pits, under which conditions the salt is released again and how it moves inland
  • To collect novel field data and to use advanced unstructured grid models to simulate and understand the trapping and release process.
  • To deliver parameterisation of salt released by the gates for incorporation into the 3D HS model.
