Development of the Virtual Delta module to support short term decision making

The main objectives in this sub project are:

• Determine skill (improvements) of 1D salt intrusion forecasts for short time scales (0 – 10 days)
• Develop and validate ensemble data assimilation and statistical pre/postprocessing techniques for improving salt intrusion forecasting and quantifying predictive uncertainty
• Assess value of the probabilistic 1D salt intrusion forecasts for operational water
