Improving modeling of dikes reinforced with sheet piles
The full scale sheet pile reinforced dike test aims at obtaining insight in the deformations and strength of dikes that are reinforced with sheet piles. This test is part of the POVM research program. The overall goal is to get more optimal designs of dikes. Within All-Risk, part of the results of this test are analysed.
The research outcome from the All-Risk part is better modeling of the physical mechanisms and especially the determination of the main parameters that govern strength and stiffness. This includes the quantification of uncertainties in these parameters, allowing for probabilistic analysis and safety assessment.
